Welcome to Lococo's Cucina Rustica, a gem nestled in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa, California. This charming Italian restaurant is a true feast for the senses, where the aromas of homemade marinara and fresh basil waft through the air, inviting both locals and travelers to indulge in authentic Italian cuisine.

The atmosphere at Lococo's is delightfully inviting—think cozy tables adorned with simple décor, where laughter and clinking glasses set the tone for a casual yet vibrant dining experience. Whether you’re here for a family meal or a romantic dinner, the ambiance is warm and welcoming, complemented by attentive service that enhances the dining experience. Many diners raved about their server Jonnie H., whose blend of professionalism and humor adds an extra layer of charm to your visit.

As you peruse the menu, you'll discover a variety of classic Italian dishes that celebrate tradition and rich flavors. Start your meal with their Cesare Classic Caesar Salad or indulge in the Gorgonzola Hearts of Romaine for a burst of creamy flavor. The Stracciatella Chicken Broth is a must-try, featuring tender pasta and farm-fresh ingredients—a comforting dish that evokes the heart of Italian home cooking.

For the main event, the selection of Panini is not to be missed. The Pollo al Basilico, a grilled chicken masterpiece paired with roasted peppers and goat cheese, gives each bite a delightful balance of flavors. If you're a fan of traditional comfort food, the homemade meatballs served with marinara and melty mozzarella are a hearty choice that will leave you craving more.

Lococo's doesn't stop at savory delights; their dessert menu is equally tempting. The creme brûlée has received glowing reviews for its perfectly caramelized top and creamy center, making it a sweet ending to your meal that should not be overlooked.

While the food receives high praises for its authenticity and flavor, some diners did note that peak hours may bring longer wait times. As many reviews suggest, reserving a table ahead of time can ensure a smoother experience, allowing you to savor every moment at Lococo's without the stress of a lengthy wait.

Overall, Lococo's Cucina Rustica is a delightful spot for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Italian flavors in a relaxed yet lively environment. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this eatery promises a culinary experience that will linger in your memory long after the meal has ended.

Beware of sneaky hidden charges. Server asked if we’d like the salad we ordered to be split onto two plates? Sure. Lococo’s charged an extra $1.50 to do that. REALLY?! Well that was a first (and last) time. Try to go earlier for dinner as you will get your food faster. Last time we were there during prime time it took approximately 50 minutes before our food came. Highly recommend making a reservation.

This was, hands down, the best and most authentic Italian we have ever had! If it was local to me I would be a regular there. My only regret is that we are only traveling through and I couldn’t sample the entire menu. It’s a small location but the atmosphere is on point and it is very busy because the food is fantastic! I was so full but I couldn’t leave without trying their crème brûlée and their cannolis. OMGOODNESS it was so worth being beyond full when we left. I will make a point to go there every time I am traveling through.

This is an interesting, old school “red sauce” style Italian joint in downtown Santa Rosa that’s worth stopping in to visit! We came in on a very busy weeknight for dinner. Our server was helpful and informative. The menu was filled with the typical, old school “NY” red sauce styled food. The items we chose were really good... sauce included! Their shrimp scampi entrée was beautiful and tasty! The shrimp was decent in it, though a couple pieces were slightly over-cooked. The potatoes were tasty and not dry. Their Spicy Rigatoni Vodka was really good and filling, though not spicy at all. Save room for dessert, they have a nice frozen Limoncello that’s pretty tasty! I’d come back for dinner again!

Not here to repeat what others have said. Just dropping stars and letting you know their dessert menu is good. Buratta comes with toasted bread. The table bread could’ve been toasted. Specials sounded good too.

Great food and service. Better to reserve a table in advance. Recommend taping rigatoni and cheese/spinach ravioli Food may take a while depending on how busy it gets fyi

We strolled past this place in our search for dinner and were immediately drawn in. It’s special. It’s the rare neighborhood restaurant that appears to cater to tourists and locals alike (hard to do, and they ace it). They serve simple, traditional Italian dishes that are fresh, bright, and generously portioned. I had the scallops and risotto, he had the house-made gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce. The flavors were balanced and not overly rich. The vibe here is wonderful. I’m the last person who enjoys a singing-servers birthday bit, but theirs is so beautiful and heartfelt I teared up—and it wasn’t even me they were singing to! Come here for the food—you won’t regret it—but the kind, welcoming vibe that doesn’t drift over into kitsch, that’s why you’ll likely go back. We definitely will.
